ABSTRACT / RESUMO
"What Historiography" addresses the historiography of Portuguese architecture according to three different parts. The first with a character of general survey and key historiographical readings of the 20th century, with particular emphasis on the contributions of José-Augusto França, Nuno Portas, Alexandre Alves Costa and others. The second part will focus on George Kubler's work Portuguese Plain Architecture: between spices and diamonds, 1521-1706. A third part deals with the production of Paulo Varela Gomes on contemporary Portuguese architecture, from periodicals to books and international exhibitions.
