The (EU)ROPA international conference What? When? Why not? Portuguese architecture took place on October 30th 2021 at Casa da Arquitectura, in Matosinhos. The sessions of this groundbreaking exercise on Portuguese architecture were open to the public and had the participation of a wide range of architects and scholars. The project coordinators and the nuclear researchers presented the ongoing investigation. Keynote speaker Hans Ibelings provided a reflection on peripheral and central cultures in the context of European architecture, while Cristiane Muniz and Fernando Viégas offered their view from across the Atlantic.
